Steven E. Jurch

Steve has over 17 years of experience as a massage therapist and athletic trainer and holds a Bachelor’s degree in nutrition and fitness and a Master’s degree in sports medicine. He received his massage therapy training at Suncoast School of Massage Therapy where he specialized in sports massage. Working in the clinical or sports environment his entire career, he was an athletic training intern with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers NFL Team and also performed the massage therapy for the team. He has also worked with professional and US National Soccer Teams, Arena Football, Jai-Ali, Professional Ballet, and college athletics. Outside the treatment room, Steve served as the director of the Massage Therapy Program at Trident Technical College for eight years as well as being an adjunct faculty member in the Physical and Occupational Therapy programs at the Medical University of South Carolina. Steve has published numerous articles on massage therapy and a textbook on clinical massage therapy with McGraw-Hill. Steve is now based in St. Petersburg, FL and serves as the Director of Massage Therapy Services for the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA), working with the players as well as coordinating the massage therapy for the entire tour. He has been named to the AMTA’s subject matter expert committee on fascial therapy and is working to create a continuing education curriculum with the other members of the panel. Through all of his efforts, Steve hopes to continuously enrich the profession of massage therapy.
