Nicholas Daly

Educated at University College Cork and Brown University, Nicholas Daly has taught at Wesleyan University, Dartmouth College, and Trinity College Dublin, and he is currently Professor of Modern English and American Literature at University College Dublin. He is the author of Modernism, Romance, and the Fin de Siècle (1999), Literature, Technology and Modernity (2004), and Sensation and Modernity in the 1860s (2009), and many articles on Victorian and twentieth-century literature and culture. His The Demographic Imagination and the Nineteenth-Century City: Paris, London, New York is forthcoming from Cambridge University Press, and he is currently working on a collaborative project on Ruritanian fiction and film, from The Prisoner of Zenda to The Princess Diaries. He lives in Dublin, Ireland, with his partner and their cat.
