You're here to read my bio. But let's talk about you for a minute. I think people don't get enough credit for this crucial step in their pre-purchasing research. You are that rare and special flower that actually gives a damn about what you read. You want to at least glance at the label, to know what's inside the container before you take the next step.

Like many writers my life has been all over the map. Exploring this way and that. We are a restless lot, writers. We don't do well in a conventional work setting. This is an excuse, yes. It is also the truth.

I was born in Philly, in 1963. I was eight months old when Kennedy died. My dad was an ad executive for TIME; the original madman.

Dad was also a former Navy pilot who took part in Operation Highjump, Antarctic Naval Research projects 1946/47. Dad and five shipmates survived the crash of their Martin PBM "Mariner" on Thurston Island. They managed to remain alive for two harrowing weeks, and were miraculously rescued by the crew of the USS Pine Island (AV-12). My first published book covers this amazing story.

I received a bachelor's in oceanography at Florida Tech, spent two years in the Peace Corps in Honduras, worked for newspapers and left to join an internet company. I was there for the internet bubble. Moving on I taught school, and now write books and political blogs full time.

My wife Donna and I have raised three wonderful children here in Florida. I surf, I run, and I write. Did I mention I am a writer?

I hope your read my first published book. Within a few days you will see me post other books through the new Kindle publishing program. The first one is about the first year in the terrible reign of Rick Scott. The other works are my ongoing efforts in the realm of fiction.

So please, keep coming back.
