Kaye Wiley

Kaye Wiley is an educator, curriculum developer and textbook writer with classroom experience in both the United States and abroad. She is a graduate of the University of California at Berkeley, and received an M.Ed in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Houston.

She began writing English as a Second Language (ESL) textbooks for Addison Wesley/Pearson Longman in 1994, and is the author of "Shining Star Introductory Level," "Keystone Bridges," "Newcomer Phonics," "Fast Track Phonics," "Alligator at the Airport" and "Animalito Alfabeto."

After starting her career in California, she traveled to Istanbul, Turkey, where she and her family were at Robert College for ten years. In 1981, she returned first to Houston, TX, then to Connecticut as ESL Curriculum Coordinator and Instructional Coach for the New Haven Public Schools. During this time, she served on Connecticut State Standards Committees in World Languages and ESL.

Currently she is working as an independent consultant and writer in Hamden, CT. She has been a frequent presenter at state and national educational conferences on the subject of second language acquisition, literacy and vocabulary development.
