Maher M. Dabbah

Professor Eyad Maher Dabbah holds the Chair in Competition Law and Policy at Queen Mary University of London, where he has also served as the Director of the Institute for Competition and Consumers (ICC) (formerly the Interdisciplinary Centre for Competition Law and Policy) since 2006. He is a globally renowned scholar and counsel in the field of competition law and is widely considered the leading authority in a number of areas in the field, including: competition law and policy in the Middle East and developed economies; and international and comparative competition law. Eyad also serves in judicial capacity at the UK Competition Appeal Tribunal and has international expertise as specialist in trade disputes and anti-dumping cases. He has handled a number of high-profile cases across different jurisdictions as well as in arbitration proceedings. Several of the matters in which he has acted as special counsel have been precedent-setting in more than one jurisdiction. The politics of the Middle East is Eyad's third major area of expertise (outside competition law and trade policy).
