Geoff Coffey

Geoff Coffey is co-owner of Six Fried Rice (http://sixfriedrice.com), where he writes about, teaches, and builds software with FileMaker Pro. He is also coauthor of the acclaimed "FileMaker Pro 10: The Missing Manual", the best selling book about FileMaker Pro from O'Reilly Media and technical editor and contributor to FileMaker Advisor Basics magazine.

On the technical side, Geoff is a FileMaker Pro expert, and puts his skills to regular use building software for customers. He also specializes in web application development, and built his first database-connected dynamic web site in 1994 using FileMaker Pro and Applescript. Since then, Geoff has created production web systems in just about everything out there from perl CGI to Cold Fusion to JEE, but his current favorite for small-to-mid-size sites is Ruby on Rails.

Although he has an MBA from Arizona State University and a degree in Computer Science from Northern Arizona University, FileMaker Pro is his first true love. This is a fact disputed by his wife of 15 years, with whom he has two practically-perfect children, Isabel (11) and Sophia (7).
