W. David Klemperer

W. David Klemperer is professor emeritus of forest economics in the Forestry Department at Virginia Tech. His 40 years of professional forestry experience also include work as a county extension forester in Washington state, a forest economist for Associated Oregon Industries, and a self-employed consulting forest economist in Oregon. He has lectured extensively throughout the United States and abroad, has published widely in forestry, economics, and appraisal journals, and has often been a consultant to government and industry. Klemperer has served on numerous boards and committees with the Society of American Foresters, the International Union of Forestry Research Organizations, and other groups. He received a B.S. from the New York State College of Forestry at Syracuse University, and a master’s and Ph.D. in forest economics from Oregon State University.
