Katherine writes children’s and YA fiction, and adult non-fiction on folklore, fairy tales and fantasy. Her historical fantasy 'Dark Angels' (Shadow Hunt in the US) won a Kirkus starred review and was a Junior Library Group Selection (2010).

Her latest book, 'From Spare Oom to War Drobe', an appreciation of the Seven Chronicles of Narnia, has been praised by Neil Gaiman as 'a knowledgeable and enthusiastic guide', and by Lucy Mangan as a 'beautifully-written account of what Narnia means to the writer and to the wider world'.
