Joy S. Berger

Dr. Joy S. Berger (b. 1959) is a life-long musician and a hospice interdisciplinary educator. She is the CEO of Composing Life Out of Loss, equipping hospice and palliative organizations with 24/7 caregiver/family education and support tools, from serious illness through hospice care and through bereavement. Previously, she served as Director of Education for the Hospice Education Network; and Director of Hospice Institute: Advancing End of Life Education. She was honored with the National Heart of Hospice Psychosocial/Spiritual Award, by the National Council of Hospice & Palliative Professionals. Her interdisciplinary expertise includes Fellow in Thanatology: Death, Dying and Bereavement, Doctor of Musical Arts, Board Certified Chaplain, and Music Therapist - Board Certified.
