Dan Raviv

Dan Raviv was a CBS News correspondent for over 40 years -- based in Tel Aviv, London, Miami, New York, and in Washington, where he was host of the national radio magazine Weekend Roundup. Most of his books are co-authored with Israeli intelligence and security expert Yossi Melman. These include SPIES AGAINST ARMAGEDDON: INSIDE ISRAEL'S SECRET WARS (2014), FRIENDS IN DEED: INSIDE THE U.S.-ISRAEL ALLIANCE (1994), and the national best seller EVERY SPY A PRINCE: THE COMPLETE HISTORY OF ISRAEL'S INTELLIGENCE COMMUNITY (1990). Dan wrote COMIC WARS (2002), the definitive inside roller-coaster story of how Marvel Comics went bankrupt and then rose again as a movie behemoth. In 2025, Dan teamed up with a top expert on human motivation, Professor Arie Kruglanski, to write THE QUEST FOR SIGNIFICANCE: HARNESSING THE NEED THAT MAKES THE WORLD GO ROUND. Every human has a need to make his or her life matter -- and this book explores that from the prehistoric days of cave-dwellers to the dictators, terrorists, and philanthropists of today.
