Michael Lockwood

Michael Lockwood has taught in schools and been a university lecturer in English and Education. He was the United Kingdom Literacy Association’s Author of the Year in 2009 for his book Promoting Reading for Pleasure in the Primary School. As well as writing many other academic books and articles, he has also published poems for children in various edited anthologies, including The Poetry Store, A First Poetry Book, Minibeasts, How to Survive School, How to Embarrass Teachers and (this one has his favourite title) Orange, Silver, Sausage. He published his first children's novel, The Clockmaker Project, the first book in the Brigtown Projects series, in 2016. The second book in the series, The Spycatcher Project, was published in 2020. Michael Lockwood lives in Oxfordshire, England.
