John J. Rakos

I was born in Budapest, Hungary. I escaped from Hungary as a child during the 1956 revolution, immigrated into Canada, and grew up in Montreal. I have degrees in Nuclear Physics (that should impress), Computer Science and Project Management (PM). I worked at large companies as a software project manager for 15 years, and in 1984 formed my own company, John J. Rakos & Assoc. Consultants Ltd., specializing in PM consulting and training. I have also been teaching PM at the University of Ottawa for 20 years. My first two books were on PM, and the third is Budapest 1944. It is the true memoir of my aunt Lolo, a young Jewish woman who lived through the occupation and Jewish persecutions in Budapest in 1944. She sent me the manuscript of her memoir, which I translated and edited. "Very powerful story" - CBC Radio.
