William A. Charland

William Charland is an educator and writer with experience in higher education spanning 50 years, author of six books on careers in a changing economy, a nationally-distributed careers columnist, and a reporter on sports and society for the Christian Science Monitor on the side.

Tenuous State (forthcoming) is Bill’s third novel. In each case, he says, he has sought to see beneath the surface of events he has been a part of, so that much of what he has portrayed as fiction is real. None of the novels has been planned. Each has risen from a need to find out and tell the truth about what he has seen. In trade talk, they are “novels of social concern.”
