Michael C. Petty

Michael Petty was born in South London. He is a retired Professor of Engineering and a previous Head of Department at Durham University, UK. He is an acclaimed authority on molecular electronics (the use of organic materials in electronic devices) and nanoelectronics (very small scale electronics) and has advised the UK Government on these subjects. He has also been a partner in a small company manufacturing thin film deposition equipment. Michael has written a number of books on his scientific research. A recent publishing venture is a collection of amusing anecdotes and puzzles. In his spare time, you will find Michael visiting art galleries, walking in the Yorkshire Dales and supporting Crystal Palace and Middlesbrough FCs.
