Carolyn M. Warner

Carolyn M. Warner is a professor of political science at Arizona State University. She grew up in San Diego, California and attended graduate school at Harvard University. She has a long-standing interest in the actions of organized religions in politics and society, in the impact of their beliefs and institutions, as well as in politicians' abuse of political power. She has lived in Ireland, Italy and France, traveled extensively in other countries, and is currently working on a project on the politics of sex abuse in sacred hierarchies, with a focus on the military and the Catholic church. She has held fellowships from the European University Institute, the Hoover Institution, and the Center for Advanced Study in Behavioral Sciences at Stanford University. Her research has been funded by the U.S. National Science Foundation, the Templeton/University of Notre Dame Science of Generosity program and the Fondazione Agnelli.
