Giovanni Bianchi

My name is Giovanni Bianchi; I was born in Segni (Roma) Italy on May 6, 1963. On 1987, I graduated as Master in Electronic Engineering from university of Rome.

From 1988 to 2000 I have worked at “Elettronica S.p.A.” of Rome as microwave circuit designer. During these years I have worked on mathematical modeling, development, design, and production assistance of microwave circuits such: microstrip filters, GaAs MMIC (switches and amplifiers), microwave control components (switches, variable attenuators, and phase shifters) including the relative video–digital control circuitry, subassemblies (superheterodyne receivers, RX-TX modules, frequency synthesizers), and oscillators (LC, VCO, and DRO) in the frequency range from 500 MHz to 35 GHz.

From 2000 to 2003 I worked at MOTOROLA P.C.S. (Turin, Italy), were my duties covered: build up Turin design center, debugging of PLL and PA control circuits, VCO test and design, modeling and design of highly integrated PCB structures, PA test and modeling for application on polar modulation, and specific responsibility of the RF section of GSM and WCDMA phones.

From 2004 to 2007 I worked at S.D.S. (Rome, Italy) as Responsible of Microwave design. There my most relevant designs have been: High power filters (up to 2500 W pulsed), passive components (power dividers and directional couplers), oscillators, control components, and integrated assemblies (with SSA, noise sources, passive and control elements)

On January 2008 I joined Verigy (Böblingen, Germany) as R/D Engineer, where I work to development of new filter structures, synthesizer architectures, and, more in general, RF test equipments.

My professional design experience is 22 year long; in addition, my hobby is design and building audio equipments. Therefore, my knowledge covers the frequency range from 20 Hz to 40 GHz.

My publication list consists of twelve papers and four books: three in English, one in Italian.
