Stuart Harrison

I'm Stuart Harrison. I began writing novels in the late nineties, fulfilling a lifelong ambition, and my first novel, The Snow Falcon, was published in 1999 in the UK. It was subsequently translated into a dozen languages and became an international bestseller. A new, substantially revised edition of that book is now available as both a print copy or Kindle ebook, published with a new novel, The Flyer, set in the period before and during the First World War. Like The Snow Falcon, this novel is essentially a love story, though perhaps on a more epic scale.

These days I live in the Bay Of Islands, in New Zealand's far north, a sub-tropical environment with wonderful beaches and islands in the bay, as the name suggests. A favourite haunt for people who like to fish and dive or sail. The author Zane Grey used to come here to fish for Marlin. His picture has pride of place on the wall of the Swordfish Club in Russell. Tourists still come here for the big game fishing, but it is also a great place for those of us lucky enough to live here, and a great place to bring up a family. It's also a very long way from Northamptonshire and Leamington Spa in England, where I grew up.

I am also now writing as Stuart C Harrison, publishing an ongoing series called Black Sun, which is about momentous changes that are beginning to affect this planet and how they are connected to the mysteries of the ancient world, such as the Great Pyramid of Giza and myths of lost civilisations. The first episode will be released in February 2013, and a new one bi-monthly after that.
