Brant D. Baker

Dr. Brant D. Baker (b. 1958) is a native Californian, but has lived in South America, the north and southeast United States, and currently in Arizona. He is a graduate of Claremont McKenna College (which he credits as the place he learned to write), Princeton Theological Seminary (M.Div.), and Columbia Theological Seminary (Th.M. and D.Min.).

Brant's lifelong interest in Christian spirituality has always been balanced by his interest in hands-on ways to encounter the living God. All of his children's sermons run in this direction of "experiences, not just words," as does most of his other work. To put it another way, spirituality is not only ethereal, it is physical.

Brant has written numerous adult small group study resources, including Famous Donkeys of the Bible, Famous Cows of the Bible, Famous Fish of the Bible, Famous Birds of the Bible, The Rest of the Story (3 vols), and Wine in the Bible.

When not writing (or reading) Brant enjoys fitness, golf, music, and hiking. He and his son did a rim-to-rim hike of the Grand Canyon on a hot summer day in 2010--a bucket list kind of accomplishment that he hopes not to repeat! Brant and his wife live in Arizona.
