Jennifer Yee

I was born and brought up in Sydney, Australia, and did my first degree in English and French at the University of Sydney while working at Abbeys Bookshop. With the aim – actually impossible, trust me on this – of acquiring native-speaker level competence in French I then went to live in France, where I did a D.E.A. (the equivalent of a second Master’s degree) and a doctorate at Paris 7 (now the Université de Paris), living in Paris and then Toulouse. I taught English in Paris and at the Université de Toulouse le Mirail. After my doctorate I went to the University of Newcastle in the UK where I was a lecturer and then senior lecturer in French, before going to the University of Oxford where I have been lecturer, associate professor and now Professor of Literature in French, as well as a Fellow (Official Student) at Christ Church. I like doodling and cycling, and I buy too many books.
