Julia Stewart

Julie Stewart an author of non-fiction books, mostly related to African subjects, and also writes musical book and lyrics and sketch comedy. She has acted in several short, friend-made, horror films and loves doing extra work on films. Stewart draws on a combination of a midwestern upbringing and a professional career in far-flung places. For two decades, she lived in African countries (Angola, Eritrea, Kenya, South Africa, Sudan) working in public information for humanitarian and development organizations. Having relocated to Merida, Mexico, in 2008 she continues to consult in writing and editing, while renovating houses and trying to get Marfa, her musical, to see the light of day. Stewart’s sketch comedy pieces were performed in a live sketch comedy show in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, in 2022.
