Peter Rand has written about revolution in Africa (Firestorm, a novel), revolution and civil war in China (China Hands: The Adventures and Ordeals of the American Journalists Who Joined Forces with the Great Chinese Revolution, a history), the superrich (The Private Rich, stories; Gold From Heaven, a novel) and most recently, an untold spy story of World War II (Conspiracy of One, a novel). Peter also maintains a dedicated interest in China, and has translated and edited four important works from their Chinese editions, most recently Gao Wenqian's Znou Enlai: The Last Perfect Revolutionary.
Peter served as executive director and founder of Ballets Russes 2009, a celebration of the 100th anniversary of Serge Diaghilev's Ballets Russes. He is an editor and contributor to Ballets Russes and the Art of Design, an accompanying volume to the commemoration.
Having previously taught at Columbia University and Harvard University, Peter Rand currently teaches journalism at the College of Communication at Boston University.
