Claudia Sadowski-Smith is associate professor at Arizona State University. She is the author of The New Immigrant Whiteness: Race, Neoliberalism, and Post-Soviet Migration to the United States (New York U. Press, 2018), which analyzes interviews, reality TV shows, memoirs, and fiction to place post-USSR migration into the larger context of discussions about the racialization of contemporary US immigrants under neoliberal conditions, and Border Fictions: Globalization, Empire, and Writing at the Boundaries of the United States (U. of Virginia Press, 2008), which explores multiethnic cultural productions about the US borders with Canada and Mexico from the perspective of hemispheric and border studies. In addition, Sadowski-Smith is also the editor of Globalization on the Line: Culture, Capital, and Citizenship at U.S. Borders (Palgrave, 2002).
