Gregory Hanlon

A French-trained behavioral historian of Early Modern Europe, presently Munro Professor of History at Dalhousie University in Canada, my research ranges across many aspects of the sixteenth to eighteenth centuries, with special emphasis on Italy and France. By accident rather than by design, four of these books focus on the military history of the era. For twenty years now, I have drawn inspiration from the behavioral sciences and human universals.
