Claudia Neuhauser

Dr. Neuhauser is currently Associate Vice Chancellor/Associate Vice President for Research and Technology Transfer and a Howard Hughes Medical Institute Professor in the department of Mathematics at the University of Houston. Prior to this appointment, she spent 22 years at the University of Minnesota as a faculty and different administrative roles, including department head of Ecology, Evolution and Behavior, Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs at the University of Minnesota Rochester, and Director of Graduate Studies of the UMR-based Bioinformatics and Computational Biology graduate program. She led the University of Minnesota Informatics Institute (UMII) and was Director of the Minnesota Supercomputing Institute (MSI).

In 2011, Neuhauser was elected as a fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science. In 2012, she became one of the inaugural fellows of the American Mathematical Society.

In her spare time, she enjoys reading books about higher education and history and riding her bike along the bayous in Houston.
