Andrea O'Reilly

Andrea O'Reilly is Associate Professor in the School of Women's Studies at York University, Toronto, Canada. She is editor of more than twelve books including Mother Outlaws: Theories and Practices of Empowered Mothering (2004); Maternal Theory: Essential Readings (2007); Feminist Mothering (2008); Textual Mothers/Maternal Texts: Motherhood in Contemporary Women's Literatures (with Elizabeth Podnieks), (2009); Maternal Thinking: Philosophy, Politics, Practice (2009).O'Reilly is author of Toni Morrison and Motherhood: A Politics of the Heart, (2004) and Rocking the Cradle: Thoughts on Motherhood, Feminism, and the Possibility of Empowered Mothering. (2006). O'Reilly is founder and director of The Association for Research on Mothering, the Journal of the Association for Research on Mothering, and Demeter Press.
