Mary Attenborough

Mary Attenborough studied mathematics at Imperial College, London and completed her PhD in condensed matter physics, while also tutoring undergraduate engineering students. After two years teaching in Mozambique, Mary returned to London working as a software engineer in the field of geophysical exploration. In 1986 she joined the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering in South Bank University as a senior lecturer teaching math and software engineering to undergraduates and master’s students. In 1990 Mary returned to private industry employed by Simon Engineering and later freelancing before moving to Ireland in 1998, obtaining contracts in Dublin within the telecommunications industry. In 2000 Mary established, along with her partner Michael Gallagher, a web development company The Webbery, in County Donegal, where they now live and work.
