During the Summer of 1977 Jerry Gallagher left his Job as a Counselor for the Pennsylvania Bureau of Correction and with his long time Friend, Hal, left on a nearly Two Month Trip through the United States and Canada. Jerry's Latest Book, "Lonesome Travelers: An American Journey," is a Non Fiction Novel documenting the Road Trip Adventures of Jerry and Hal as they traveled Through The United States and Canada from Pennsylvania to the West Coast and back East to Phoenix, Arizona, where they dropped off Hal's Cousin's Mercury Monarch, the car the Duo had been traveling in on their Long Distance Drive before returning by plane to Pennsylvania.

Jerry Gallagher's Fourth Published Book and Second Novel "The Man On The Grassy Knoll - The Assassins" is the First Book in a Series which Spans Decades and Deals with some of the most important Political and Moral Issues of the 20th Century. In "The Assassins" Author, Jerry Gallagher puts a new Fictional Spin on the Nightmare Assassination of President John Fitzgerald Kennedy on November 22nd,1963 by combining some very Disturbing and Controversial Truths with some even more Disturbing and Controversial Fictional Elements.

In the end "The Man On The Grassy Knoll - The Assassins" is a fast paced and interesting Novel which presents an often told tale with some New and Frightening Insights regarding the Back Story of the JFK Assassination. In May of 2013 Jerry Gallagher published his Third Book and his First Novel, "The Folksingers," in Paperback and Kindle versions through Amazon.com. The Folksingers is a Novel that takes the reader back to the Summer of 1963. The reader can accompany the Novel's main character, Jeff McCarthy as he hitchhikes to Newport, Rhode Island for "The Newport Folk Music Festival of 1963."

Jeff meets some very interesting characters on his hitchiking journey to Newport and interacts with even more interesting characters once he arrives at the Festival. The Novel also includes some well developed back stories on other characters in the Novel, in addition to Jeff.

Anyone interested in the Sixties and in Folk Music and Folksingers will find much to enjoy in this Novel.

Jerry Gallagher has been writing for a long time. Jerry was a Staff Book Reviewer for the University of Scranton's "Best Sellers" Magazine for several years and also wrote Feature Stories, as well as Concert, Television and Movie Reviews for PA East and The Morning Call Newspapers in the Lehigh Valley area of Eastern Pennsylvania.

In addition, Jerry has also been a Guitarist, Singer and Songwriter both as a solo artist, as well as in several Folk and Rock Groups in Eastern Pennsylvania including The Lehigh Valley Folk Music Society, The Shamrockers and The Earth Riders.

Jerry's music and writing have proven to be wonderful and fulfilling hobbies but not really a source of income so Jerry worked for many years in the field of Social Work.

Since completing his Bachelors Degree in English at King's College in Wilkes Barre, PA and his Masters Degree in Counseling at Shippensburg State University of Pennsylvania in Shippensburg, PA, Jerry worked for many years as a Counselor, Social Worker and a Family Therapist in his home area of Pennsylvania.

In 2012 Jerry retired from his Counseling Career with the intention of putting more time into his writing projects.
