David A. Cooper

Dr. David A. Cooper is The James Forrestal Professor of National Security Affairs at the U.S. Naval War College in Newport, Rhode Island. His research focuses on the areas of arms control and disarmament, nonproliferation, nuclear deterrence, foreign and defense policy, and international relations theory. He previously served for nearly twenty years as a career policy official at the US Department of Defense. He holds a PhD in Political Science and International Relations from The Australian National University and is a graduate of Columbia University and Oberlin College.
