I am a multi-lingual art historian, consultant (art and travel), curator, editor, lecturer, former musician, and world traveler. I wrote my first novel, Mystry (sic) at Oak Hall Manor, at age seven and upon arriving at adulthood, chose the (more) pragmatic path of a university professor. Curious about the world and a dual American-Swedish citizen, I spend much of my time outside the U.S. teaching and lecturing on the subjects of national identity, 19th-century Europe, and Scandinavian art and culture, and temporarily inhabiting places as diverse as Paris and the forests of southern Sweden. Although the recipient of awards from the American Council of Learned Societies, Fulbright, and the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, I find nothing more rewarding than wandering the streets of my city-love, Paris, lazing on secluded beaches under the shade of palm trees, rowing in her boat, and, naturally, writing.
