My novels—which are typically described as environmental and political thrillers—were all inspired by two of my greatest passions: wildlife and wilderness. And what represents both better than Yellowstone National Park? I’ve been blessed to have visited Yellowstone every year of my life, and after working as an attorney in the music and biotech industries in Seattle (where I wrote medical thrillers) for a decade, for the last 15 years, I’ve lived on Yellowstone’s doorstep. I am passionate about sharing its wonders and protecting its wildlife and landscapes. Aside from loving the writing process itself, I write to raise awareness of the critical issues facing Yellowstone—and all this country’s last wild places—today. Creating an exciting story, one based on the real-life heroes fighting every day to protect the wildlife and landscapes of this nation’s first national park, is a joy and privilege.
