John Paulett was born in Cleveland, Ohio in 1950. He currently lives in Skokie, Illinois. John is an adjunct professor of ethics in the College of Computing and Digital Media at DePaul University. He was formerly an instructor of theology at DePaul College Prep, a professor at Felician University (Religious Studies Department) and an instructor of Theology and Film at Fenwick High School. In 2013, he was selected to receive the Golden Apple Award for Excellence in Education. He has also been recognized as "Heart of the School" by the Archdiocese of Chicago. John holds a B.S. in Linguistics from Georgetown University, an M.A. in Theology from Felician College, an M.F.A in Creative Writing from Antioch University, and he has done post-graduate work in Religious Studies at Northwestern University. He has published histories of Chicago, a book on prayer and spirituality, and several plays. His articles have appeared in the Chicago Sun-Times, Lunch Ticket, and other publications. In 2014, he was appointed as an educational consultant to the Illinois Holocaust Museum. John is also an actor and has appeared on stage and in film, including the award-winning short "The European Kid." John plays multiple string instruments and was a founding member of the bluegrass band Home Brew. He lives with his partner artist Pam Sloan and two dogs--Alice and Peanut.
