I always loved to read. I got into children's publishing on the editorial side and began writing board books and simple storybooks for work. Which was just enough to let me know that writing was something I enjoyed, and that it didn't have to be intimidating. It clicked with advice I'd received: find out what I enjoy so much I'd do it for free, then try to get someone to pay me for it.
