F. G. Major

Fouad G. Major received his Ph.D.in 1962 from the University of Washington under Hans Dehmelt. He did pioneering work at NASA/Goddard in demonstrating optical detection of microwave resonance on Hg ions in a Paul trap. Recipient of NASA Apollo Achievement Award 1969, and Science Academy of Romania Award for the book Charged Particle Traps II (2011).
