Fredric M. Ham

Fredric M. Ham is an author, engineer, educator, and U.S. Navy veteran who served three tours during the Vietnam War. He holds a Ph.D. in electrical engineering and spent twenty-six years as a professor at the Florida Institute of Technology, including fourteen years as the Harris Endowed Chair Professor, and five years as the Dean of Engineering. His career has taken him from geophysics and aerospace research to work connected with NASA and the Hubble Space Telescope. Biomedical engineering to artificial neural network applications.

He is the author of the novel Dead River, the supernatural anthology Tales from Beyond—An Anthology of Uncanny Short Fiction, and the engineering textbook Principles of Neurocomputing for Science and Engineering. His forthcoming memoir, A Life Beyond Horizons, recounts an extraordinary journey through war, science, academia, family, and the unexpected turns that shaped his life.

He divides his time between Georgia and Thailand.
