Having started out as a videogames programmer (Commodore and MSX), I have worked in the electricity and banking industries as an IT dude, got a degree in Computer Science and an MBA. I worked at McKinsey and a few other places, and currently work as a research fellow at Gartner.

I absolutely love strategy and thinking. I play the board game called Go (囲碁/ 圍棋 / 围棋 / 바둑). I am very interested in East/ Southeast Asian stuff, and speak some languages from that region.

My favourite kinds of book are the ones that 'unask the question', and get you to think about things in a radically different way. Finite and Infinite Games, by James Carse is my favourite of all.

I like really short, concise books that acknowledge that the meaning lies somewhere between writer and reader, and leaves space for the reader. I hope that my book "The Essence of Strategy" does that. I aspire to write many more books before I shuffle off my mortal coil!
