Roger Sessions

Roger Sessions has written more than eight books, mostly on software design. Then, in 2015, he canceled all his meetings and retired to focus on his first love, spirituality. He completed a three-year program in Spiritual Direction and was commissioned by the Episcopal Church as a Spiritual Director. He wasted no time challenging traditional understandings of religious beliefs, starting with his groundbreaking book released in 2015 titled Wisdom’s Way, The Christian I Ching. Wisdom’s Way offers a new understanding of ancient Chinese cosmology from the perspective of contemporary mystical Christianity.

Then in 2024, he released his highly provocative book, The Wisdom Bearer of Magdala. This book offers a radical reinterpretation of the legend of Mary of Magdala, asking what if the Bible is telling the truth, but only part of the truth? What is it hiding? And why?

The Wisdom Bearer of Magdala offers a different perspective on most of the familiar stories from the New Testament, turning obscure characters into stars, heroes into villains, and victims into victors. Perhaps the most challenging is the book within the book, which proposes an explanation for the commonality between most of the world’s religions.

Roger Sessions lives in Guanajuato, Mexico with his adopted street dog Charlie.
