My novels TOMB OF THE UNKNOWN RACIST, TERMINAL VELOCITY, and THE REVOLUTION OF LITTLE GIRLS are all narrated by the same character, Ellen Burns, who both chronicles and participates in the sexual and political revolutions of the post-Sixties generation. (I’m not Ellen, but I’m probably more like her than anyone else is!) Most of my best nonfiction is collected in THE REDNECK WAY OF KNOWLEDGE, and I’ve been a Professor and Writer-in-Residence at Connecticut College since 1982. Among my students have been, among many others, David Grann, Sloane Crosley Jazmine Hughes, Hannah Tinti, Lee Goldberg, and Lee Eisenberg.
