Stephen Carey Fox (1938-) holds a B.A. from DePauw University, and a M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of Cincinnati.

A Navy veteran, Steve flew from the U.S.S Kitty Hawk as a bombardier/navigator. He taught for three decades at Cal Poly Humboldt (formerly Humboldt State University) where he is Emeritus Professor of American history.

Since "The Unknown Internment" (republished as "Under Siege!"), Steve authored additional nonfiction: "America's Invisible Gulag," "Fear Itself," "'Against All Enemies,'" which use FBI files to tell the story of German-American internment. His last nonfiction, which looks at relocation and internment in a thematic manner was "Homeland Insecurity."

Steve now writes fiction. His stories include: "Illusions"; "The German, 'Mr. Kai' and The Devil"; "Artists, Thieves & Liars"; "Of Margaritas, Piña Coladas & Mint Juleps"; "The Collector"; "Lou & Billy Joe";"The Ghost of Yesterdays"; "Blame Jason Bourne"; "A Most Improbable Union"; Everybody Knew ... Nobody Knew"; and "The Elephant in the Room."

Steve's hobby has been bicycle touring in the United States and Europe. (http://www,crazyguyonabike.com/maceasy)
