Thomas Arnold (1967 - present) moved to Seattle, WA, from Elkhart, IN, in 1990 after graduating from Purdue University with a B.S. in Computer Science. "I moved to Seattle for skiing and the tech industry, in that order," he commonly quips. After 3 years working for Paul Allen (co-founder of Microsoft), Arnold co-founded a software testing company -- ST Labs, Inc. -- with 2 partners. His first book, "Software Testing with Visual Test 4.0" was written while at ST Labs and was based on a class that he and a fellow software tester wrote for Microsoft employees. He updated his book in 1998 after managing the Visual Test 6.0b release that was part of the sale of the tool to Rational Software. 3 more start-ups and lots of world travel, Tom eventually found himself at Microsoft on the Visual Studio 2005 Team System project where he helped add software testing tools and code coverage into the popular product. This led to his most recent book, "Professional Software Testing with Visual Studio 2005 Team System."
