Loriann Oberlin, MS has written ten non-fiction books, mostly in the realm of health, relationships, parenting, and psychological issues.
Overcoming Passive-Aggresssion: How to Stop Hidden Anger From Spoiling Your Relationships, Career, and Happiness is her latest book, in a completely revised edition as of October 2016. Surviving Separation & Divorce and The Angry Child are also in print.
Under the symbolic pseudonym Lauren Monroe, Loriann is fulfilling another creative goal with the women's fiction novels Letting Go: Book One of The Maryland Shores and Second Chances: Book Two of that same series. Her novels features contemporary women (and men) who navigate work/life balance, challenge, relationships...and from her non-fiction roots, difficult people.
Ms. Oberlin earned both a master's degree and post-master's certificate in clinical counseling from Johns Hopkins University. She works as a therapist with two Maryland offices (MD/DC Metro Eastern Shore). Ms. Oberlin sees clients of all ages, and when working with couples, uses the Gottman Couples Counseling Approach.
Oberlin has also provided training in workplaces, spoken before community groups and various conferences, including those for writers. Consulting services are also available.
She has been quoted in USA Today, The Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, Redbook, First for Women, and Experience Life magazines, among numerous others. She blogs for Divorce Magazine.
