I was born dead in an isolated farmhouse in Muscotah, KS on August 9, 1930. A country doctor started me breathing by dipping me from ice water into almost scalding water. I've hated extreme temperatures ever since. My mother was seventeen years old. My book, Without Apology, chronicles the travels and poverty of the Great Depression up until 18 years later and is the first of a planned three-book effort. I am a brain damaged veteran of the Korean War and am carried on the Veterans' Administration rolls as permanently and totally disabled. I love life with a passion that only God could understand. I want to arrive at the finish line all used up. Believe me, Nature is seeing to it that I do.
