John Penisten

John Penisten retired from Hawai'i Community College in Hilo, Hawai'i, where he taught literacy and college survival skills courses for 28 years. With a varied interest in travel, he has published stories in various newspaper, magazine and online outlets along with travel guidebooks on Hawai'i. He updates his personal travel blog (https://hawaiitravelog.com) with stories and photos from his travels. He and his wife divide their time between Hilo and the U.S. mainland, spending time with their two daughters and grandchildren.
