Tackett Jack Jr.

Jack Tackett, Jr. (1962-) (*) was born in Penn Grove, NJ until emigrating with his family to the US in 1970. After a brief stay in the mega metropolis of Jenkins, KY, Jack grew up In Marion, Ohio. He attended college in North Carolina at Western Carolina University and then was graduated with a BS in Computer Science from the University of North Carolina at Asheville (Go Bulldogs!). Amazingly he was able to cram 4 years of college into only 7 years.

Jack has over 30 years of IT experience ranging from development to Data Center Operations and enterprise security work. He is a Certified Ethical Hacker, a Certified Penetration Tester (no laughing!) and a Certified Scrum Master.

He is the co-founder of Compliancy Software and an experienced writer. His books have been published in several languages and have made Publisher’s Weekly top 10 list for computer books. His titles have also been chosen as the lead selection for the Computer Book of the Month Club.

He has been interviewed by such National Media as the Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, and The LA Times. He has also seen coverage in PC Magazine and online venues such as Slash Dot.

He lives in Cary, NC with his loving wife, his 2 children, various dogs and cats, and of course his treasured penguin slippers - none are ever far away.
