Ann Kullberg

Ann Kullberg was four years old when her mother predicted that drawing would be her special talent. Years later, a colored pencil drawing at a relative’s home caught Ann’s eye. She borrowed a book about the medium from the library, bought a set of 24 Prismacolors, and immediately felt like she'd found home. Her very first colored pencil drawing won first place at a county fair, and she hasn't looked back since!

Ann is an award-winning artist, teacher, accomplished author and publisher. In 1999, she started a little monthly publication for fellow pencil lovers that grew into COLOR Magazine. Today, she works with talented colored pencil artists from around the world to publish books and step-by-step tutorials where artists can explore all kinds of subjects, techniques, and tools including drawing portraits, animals, still life, florals and landscapes in colored pencil.

Ann’s favorite part? Helping artists shine by learning from and inspiring one another.
