Rev. Dr. Robert Scudieri is a Lutheran pastor/writer. Twenty years ago he wrote a very technical book - the history of the term "apostolic church" in the third article of the Creed of Nicaea. His second book was less technical but more popular: a biography of an entrepreneur who fought in WW II as a radio gunner and undercover agent, who came home at the end of the war to begin a real estate empire.
With those experiences behind him Scudieri decided he would be more productive as an online publisher - focusing on biographies of "Missionaries to America." Refugees and immigrants come to the United States with courage and passion to share their faith in Jesus. Too often they are marginalized, by society and by the church. Mission Nation Publishing Co.'s mission is to give them a voice. The first two books in that series will premier in January 2016.
Dr. Scudieri was a parish pastor in New Jersey and then the head of of missions for one of the 35 Districts of the Lutheran Church, before spending eighteen years as the head of mission work in North America for the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod. During that time he was the co-founder of the Lutheran Society for Missiology, which publishes the journal "Missio Apostolica," recently renamed "Lutheran Mission Matters." He served as chair of the Society for twenty years and remains on the board of "Mission Matters." On a sabbatical as a post doctoral Research Fellow at Yale Divinity School he wrote "Apostolic Church." He is a frequent lecturer and remains a consultant for missions on the national, district and local levels.
Scudieri is married to Lynn Gollenberg Scudieri. They have two children, Nathan (married to Erin) and Alison (married to Richard) and five wonderful grandchildren which they adore.
