I've been a travel writer and guidebook author for more than 30 years. My travels and strong interest in mythology, world religions, and sacred sites led me to research and write a book for children and young adults, "Sacred Stories: Wisdom from World Religions." The book tells five stories from each of seven different spiritual paths. Because I believe it's important to understand and not only tolerate but appreciate a diversity of beliefs, I made every effort to write "Sacred Stories" without bias toward one or another -- just tell the stories simply and clearly and provide a brief history and explanation for each faith. I also wrote a teacher's guide to accompany the book. I live in the Pacific Northwest and continue to write for travel publications, mostly Europe Up Close (www.europeupclose.com, and to look for shrines and sacred places around the world. We're all in this together.
