Jeff Berg (born 1954 in Rockford, IL), is the oldest of three sons from a Swedish-American family. He grew up in Belvidere, IL and moved to Greenville, SC in 1971. There he went to college and met his wife, Janet; they married in 1975. In 1979, Jeff began work as a technical/marketing writer for various high-tech corporations. He wrote his first nonfiction book in 1996: The Debt-Free Church (Moody Publishers; co-authored with friend Jim Burgess). After that, he served as an award-winning PR and marcom director for several industry-leading firms. He also wrote articles for national banking and engineering trade journals. An avid history/genealogy buff, he is planning his first novel, a historical fiction piece set in the early Ottoman Turk empire. He’s also writing an overview of the 19 Revolutionary War Patriots in his maternal ancestry. Jeff lived in central Florida from 1983 through 2015, when he and Janet moved back to Greenville, SC. He retired in 2022, but continues to write—on his own schedule. Jeff and Janet have 2 married daughters and 8 grandchildren.
