Including original description of species on the back. Published by Samuel Curtis Walworth (1779-1860) in Curtis s Botanical Magazine, between 1825 and 1826. Illustrations of Wachendorfia paniculata, Crotalaria retusa, Ipomoea splendens and Virgilia intrusa, all species native to Southern Africa. Curtis s Botanical Magazine is the longest running horticulturist periodical, founded 1787 by William Curtis (1746-1799). Since its inception, it published detailed botanical illustrations created by leading natural history illustrators along with a description of the plant and its original habitat.
