Turkmenistan has a custom known as "Alpamysh" in which the groom and his friends go to the bride's house on horseback to "capture" her and bring her to the groom's family home, where the wedding ceremony takes place. However, it should be noted that this custom is not exclusive to Turkmen culture but is rather a common Central Asian tradition. The practice is often dramatized with horse races and other festivities. Image Size: 7 1/2 x 5 ins. Overall Size including text and borders : 10 1/2 x 7 Ins. CONDITION: Full page print.
