The Staubbach, "is distant about Three Quarters of a Mile from the Inn, it is one of the Loftiest Falls in Europe. Measuring between 800 & 900 feet in Height; and from this cause and from the comparatively Small Body of Water Forming it. It is Shivered by the Wind into Spray like Dust long before it reaches the Bottom (hence its Name literally Dust Fall)".
